Benilde-St. Margaret’s School (BSM) in St. Louis Park, MN, a candidate ministry in the Midwest District, has announced a new president. Dr. Kevin Gyolai will be the fifth president of BSM, effective July 1, 2014. Gyolai has more than 20 years of experience in a liberal arts setting.
Gyolai comes from the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system (MnSCU) where he holds the position of STEM division dean at Inver Hills Community College in Inver Grove Hights, MN. Gyolai has a Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology from North Dakota State University, a Master of Science degree in biology from South Dakota State University, and Bachelor of Science degrees in biology and athletic training from North Dakota State University. Currently, he participates in MnSCU’s Executive Leader Development Program.
Gyolai is looking forward to being a part of a community that is mission focused and filled with faith traditions. “Fostering continued growth and commitment to rigorous academics, widely-available and first-class extracurricular activities, and Catholic spirituality woven into a cohesive BSM experience which prepares students to be the next generation of servant leaders will be a cornerstone of my presidency,” said Gyolai on the BSM website.
